 At Pompano Beach High School (PBHS) Our vision is deeply rooted in Academic Excellence, Global Vision, and an Unlimited Future. PBHS takes pride in being an A-rated, all-magnet high school, distinguished as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. According to U.S. News & World Report, we have earned the prestigious title of the best high school in Broward County. Additionally, we hold the 21st spot in Florida's rankings and an impressive 54th position among Magnet High Schools nationally. Furthermore, our school ranks 200th out of 25,000 schools in the U.S., firmly establishing us within the top 0.9% of schools nationwide.

International Affairs with Information Technology

At the heart of our magnet theme is a focus on International Affairs with Information Technology. PBHS offers language programs in Mandarin Chinese, French, and Spanish, complemented by a diverse range of technology-focused courses, including Computer Science, International Business, Scientific Visualization, and Digital Video Production. Our comprehensive curriculum spans across Honors, Pre-AP, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Enrollment courses, ensuring students receive a well-rounded and enriching educational experience. Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, students will also have the opportunity to enroll in the Cambridge AICE diploma program—an internationally recognized, college-level curriculum developed by the University of Cambridge. The AICE program emphasizes critical thinking, research skills, and global awareness, offering a flexible suite of AS and A-Level courses in subjects such as global perspectives, mathematics, computer science, and world literature. Successful completion of the AICE diploma can earn students college credit and demonstrate their readiness for rigorous university study. Additionally, PBHS proudly offers a wide array of athletic opportunities and diverse clubs, allowing students to actively participate in extracurricular activities.

Our Magnet Program, centered on International Affairs with Information Technology, offers a world of possibilities:

  • In the International Affairs magnet, students take International Business. They will also learn Accounting Applications and get certified in powerful accounting software called QuickBooks.
  • If they choose the Scientific Visualization track (SciViz for short), they'll explore the fascinating world of data modeling and 3D printing, bringing their ideas to life in three dimensions.
  • For those interested in Computer Science, they'll learn advanced programming languages like Java. Students will have the opportunity to take AP Computer Science classes and get certified in Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop, adding creative skills to their tech toolkit.
  • If Digital Video Production is their passion, we've got them covered too. In this track, students will become certified in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop, learning how to create and edit videos, tell compelling stories, and express their creativity through multimedia.

Our school is a melting pot of cultures and languages, with students and staff speaking nearly 35 different languages. What truly sets us apart from other schools is our relationships with 22 different countries across the globe. Every other year, we host an International Summit where our international students and faculty stay in our homes for one week. We also travel to these countries annually, providing our students with international travel experiences. Our partner schools are located in Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe.
